Vulnerability Management

Every environment has known weaknesses. The hard part is knowing which ones matter and making sure they get fixed. We scan regularly, rank what we find and track it through to closure.

What is included

  • Asset discovery. We build and maintain a list of what is on your network and in your cloud, because you cannot protect what you do not know about.
  • Scheduled scanning. Regular scans of internal and internet-facing systems to find missing patches, insecure settings and exposed services.
  • Prioritization. Findings are ranked by how easily they could be abused, how exposed the system is and how important it is to your business, not by raw scanner scores alone.
  • Remediation guidance. Each priority item comes with a practical fix and an owner, written so your IT team can act on it.
  • Verification. After a fix, we rescan to confirm the weakness is closed.

How it works

  1. Scope. Agree what is in scope and how scanning will run without disrupting operations.
  2. Scan. Run scans on an agreed schedule and after significant changes.
  3. Prioritize. Review results, remove noise and rank what is left.
  4. Track. Follow items to closure with your team and rescan.
  5. Report. Show trends so leadership can see risk going down.

What you receive

  • A clear list of what to fix first and why
  • Regular reports on open, closed and recurring issues
  • Evidence of ongoing vulnerability management for customers, insurers and auditors
  • Support talking through findings with your IT team or provider

What we need from you

A contact who can approve scanning windows, a way to reach the owners of the systems that need fixing, and credentials for authenticated scans where you want deeper results. We will tell you plainly when a finding needs a change window or a vendor fix.

Why it matters

Threat actors routinely go after weaknesses that have been public for a long time. Keeping a steady, ranked list of what is exposed, and closing it in order, removes many of the easiest ways in.

Scanning is not penetration testing

Vulnerability management finds known weaknesses continuously. A penetration test is a point-in-time exercise in which analysts try to chain weaknesses together the way a threat actor would. Many organizations need both, and results from one often guide the other.

Part of CMDR

Vulnerability management and patching is one of the layers of CMDR. It is also available on its own.

Who it fits

Organizations with a growing environment and limited time to chase patches, and those who have to show customers, insurers or auditors that they manage vulnerabilities on a regular basis.
